According to Wikipedia, the Jazz Age was a period from the 1920’s through the Great Depression, when jazz music and dance styles became popular in the United States.  I use the term “jazz” a little more loosely here, to also include Ragtime music going back to the late 1800’s, through the Big Band and Swing styles popular through the 1940’s.

I have found this style of music to be especially well suited for playing on the robotic xylophone, because the rhythms and syncopations that are so recognizable on the original piano stand out just the same on a mallet instrument like the xylophone.

Videos of Jazz songs played on the xylophone are divided by composer.

Irving Berlin

George Gerschwin
